Hit-and-Run Injures 17-Year-Old Pedestrian

A hit-and-run accident in Springdale could have had dire consequences for one pedestrian, a 17-year-old who was struck while traveling along West End Street and Christian Avenue on Monday.

Sometime before 9:30 a.m., the unidentified victim was hit by a black 2012 Toyota Yaris, possibly driven by a young woman due to information provided by a witness. According to the news release issued by local police, the victim was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at the scene of the accident. Treatment was provided by the Springdale Fire Department.

The witness reported the Toyota Yaris traveled southbound on West End Street as it fled the scene. The police department’s statement confirmed that a vehicle matching the description given by the witness was found nearby, with the license plate number 067-SOX.
