Melinda was born and raised in a small town in Southern Illinois where she graduated at the top of her class. She excelled in her high school business courses, laying the foundation for her career. She competed and won various regional performance awards with the Business Club, was a member of the National Honor Society, and was selected as a Top Senior for the Southern Illinois region.

After completing high school in 1993, Melinda continued her business path at John A. Logan College. She achieved the Dean’s List, was selected by the Business Department to receive an award for 1995 Business Student of the Year, and was selected to represent all JALC business students and travel to Washington D.C. with two professors to speak with the N.E.A. about early education business programs. Melinda graduated in 1995 with two Associates of Applied Science degrees, one for Executive Secretary and the second for Medical Office Assistant.  Following graduation, she moved to Nashville, TN and worked as the office manager for an outpatient physical therapy clinic before moving to rural southwest Missouri in 1997 where she was the County Deputy Recorder of Deeds.  In 2002Melinda relocated to Springdale, AR where her career has included working as a secretary for the University of Arkansas School of Law, the office manager for a family law attorney, the office manager for a team of criminal defense attorneys, and she enjoyed 12years working in the Real Estate Division of J.B. Hunt Transport as the Senior Leasing Manager for the department.  Her desire to return to the private law practice atmosphere, along with her experience in different areas of office management, her strict attention to detail, and her personal organization skills have made her an asset to Oliver Law Firm team since November 2019 where she is the firm’s Finance Manager and the Property Manager for Oliver Law Firm Properties.

Melinda and her husband have two sons. They enjoy spending time together, camping and fishing at Roaring River State Park. Melinda’s idea of a perfect day includes a good cup of coffee and hours at the library. Melinda and her talented family enjoy serving in the praise team and visual/audio team for their church in Springdale.
