Take 25 Community Involvement

Oliver Law Firm and ATLA, the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association, recently partnered with The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children® (NCMEC) to observe National Missing Children’s Day on Tuesday, May 25, 2011 to promote safety education through a Take 25 event.

Take 25 is a national child safety campaign that encourages community members, parents and guardians to take 25 minutes to talk to children about ways to stay safer during the month of May. Created by NCMEC, Take 25 promotes an ongoing dialogue between children, families, and communities about child safety.

Leona Crowe, a member of our litigation team at Oliver Law Firm spoke to Michelle Rudder’s 4th grade class at Mary Mae Jones Elementary School on Wednesday, May 25, 2011. One of Oliver Law Firm’s commitments as members of the community is to educate and help ensure the safety of our children.
Leona spoke at length to the children about being aware of their surroundings, and knowing what their safe zones are, and how to seek help. They also participated in an interactive safety activity. Leona handed out packets that will give the children and their parents necessary information to promote safety education.

First proclaimed National Missing Children’s Day by former President Ronald Reagan in 1983, May 25th serves as an annual reminder to the nation to renew efforts to reunite missing children with their families, remember those who are still missing and make child protection a national priority.
