Drunk Driver Robert Meek Flees Scene, Gets into Another Accident

Robert Meek, 45, couldn’t avoid being taken into custody yesterday, despite an attempt to flee the scene of an accident.

Meek fled from a drunk driving accident involving 3 vehicles last night, only to be struck by another vehicle minutes later.

The first accident occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. in Springdale, at the intersection of 48th St. and Watkins Ave. Meeks fled the area prior to police arriving at the scene.

Only minutes later, police received notice that Meek’s vehicle had been hit on Interstate 49, near the Don Tyson Parkway interchange.

Meek was taken to Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville, and his health status is yet unknown, according to police.

Police say Meek faces a variety of charges in the incidents:

  • Driving while intoxicated
  • Leaving the scene of an accident
  • No insurance
  • No vehicle license
  • Careless driving
